RB Chris Wells Looking to Visit Michigan

The nations No. 1 running back is hoping to schedule an official visit to Michigan for the Nov. 19 showdown against Ohio State. Before Michigan fans get too excited, it will do well to remind folks that Chris Wells committed to the Buckeyes way back in February. Is he starting to look around, or does he just want to catch the game on U-M's dime? GoBlueWolverine.com spoke with Wells on Tuesday.

Running back Chris Wells of Garfield High School in Akron, Ohio is the nations No. 1 running back, according to Scout.com. Wells committed to Ohio State shortly after Signing Day. Michigan was among his finalists, but the general thought was that he was a Buckeye all the way. However, Wells is looking to take a couple of official visits, including one to Michigan for the Ohio State game on Nov. 19.

Does this mean he is reconsidering his commitment to OSU? "I just want to see some other things," he said. "I doubt anything is going to change about my commitment to Ohio State, but Michigan has been recruiting me the entire time, and we're trying to get something set up for the Ohio State game. It's not finalized yet, but it's probably going to happen."

The 6-foot-1, 228-pound Wells said he is also looking to schedule a visit to USC on Nov. 5 for the Trojans match up against Stanford.

The obvious question arises, is this just a way to get to see his future team in the biggest rivalry in college football? "I've never been to Michigan for a game," he said. "I'm open to what they have to offer, and I'm not going to go up there and try to recruit anyone for OSU; I'll be completely neutral."
