WR Mathews Sets Official Visit with Michigan

Wide receiver Greg Mathews of Edgewater High School in Orlando, Fla., publicly states that an offer from Miami will end his recruitment. However, that hasn't materialized yet, and the three-star prospect isn't sitting around and waiting. GoBluewolverine.com spoke with Mathews on Sunday, and he said he would take an official visit to Michigan.

Greg Mathews has made no secret of the fact that he wants to go to "UM". However, for Michigan fans those two letters don't mean what they'd like. Those stand for the University of Miami, and the talented wide receiver from Edgewater High School in Orlando, Fla., is only waiting for an offer. Since one hasn't arrived at this time, he is taking a look at other schools, including the "U-M" with which Michigan fans are more familiar. "I'm going to visit Michigan for the Ohio State game," he said. "I'm looking forward to it because it's such big game. I'm hearing from the Michigan coaches every week, but they haven't been down to see a game yet."

The 6-foot-3, 190-pound Mathews is also being recruited by Ohio State. "I hear from them every week too," he said. "After Miami I really don't have any favorites, but Michigan and Ohio State are up there. I haven't set up any other official visits yet, but I will probably visit both Ohio State and Miami."

Mathews was a full-week Michigan Camper this past June.

Mathews said he took the SAT on Saturday, and wasn't able to catch any games. "I thought the test was pretty easy," he said. "I should know my score in a couple weeks. My mom is a teacher so she can get my score for me quicker." Edgewater is off to a 7-0 start, outscoring opponents 245-72. They host Colonial on Friday.
