Changes in the Wind For Udoh

GoBlueWolverine caught up with power forward Ekpe Udoh last night and he informed us of a number of changes in his recruitment. Are the Wolverines still on top?

Ekpe Udoh, the 6 foot 9 inch power forward out of Edmund, Oklahoma, informed GoBlueWolverine last evening about a change in his recently reported visit plans. "I will not be visiting Pittsburgh this week," he said. "I'll probably be going up to visit in a month." Despite the delay in his visit, it appears the Panthers have really made a move in this recruitment.

In previous months the long-armed shot-blocker mentioned that Michigan was the definite leader for his services. That, however, is no longer the case. Udoh indicated that the Wolverines and Panthers are now tied for the lead and that his decision won't come until sometime after Christmas.

"I really like Pittsburgh's basketball team," Udoh explained. "They are in the Big East and I think that is the best league in the country."

As far as the Wolverines go, the visit last month left a strong imprint in his mind. "I really like Michigan too," Udoh said. "Their academics are great. With all the resources they have and all the help that Sue Shand (academic advisor) said is available, it makes me really like Michigan. For right now I am just weighing my options."

In the meantime, Udoh is concentrating on school and rehabbing his surgically repaired shoulder. It won't be long before he is back on the court again. "My shoulder is getting stronger and stronger each day," he said. "I will surprise a lot of people with how soon I get back on the court."

GoBlueWolverine will have more on Udoh in the coming weeks.
