GRCC's Obi Ezeh Dominates Creston, Visits U-M

U-M's 'next instate recruit' is Grand Rapids Catholic Central's FB/LB Obi Ezeh, who led GRCC to a big win over Grand Rapids Creston Friday night. And Obi is heading right over to Ann Arbor today. GoBlueWolverine's correspondent, NFL Draft Specialist Allen Trieu, was at the game and spoke to Obi and his parents.

FB/LB Obi Ezeh (6-1, 220, 4.6) ran for 96 yards on 8 carries last night, including a 68-yard touchdown run, to lead Grand Rapids Catholic Central Cougars to a 35-0 win over Grand Rapids Creston.

Ezeh also played defense in the game and recorded two sacks and an interception. It was the first time he had played on both sides of the ball in several weeks due to minor injuries.

"It just feels pretty good right now," Ezeh said after the game. "I got to play a little defense tonight so that was exciting."

Before the game Trieu spoke with Obi's mother and father, who informed him that Obi will be at the Michigan-Penn State game today on an unofficial visit, but that Obi would not be looking to make a commitment this soon -- he will make his college decision after the season is over. The MHSAA playoffs start in two weeks.

Grand Rapids Catholic Central moves to 6-1 on the season and can clinch its second outright City League Championship in three years with a win over Grand Rapids Christian in its last regular season game Friday.

Ezeh has scholarship offers from Michigan, Indiana, Western Michigan and Eastern Michigan. Catholic Central Head Coach Tom Passinault told GBW's Don Hoekwater on Friday that, "Obi has camped at Michigan the last three years and has always been a U-M fan."

Keep an eye out for GoBlueWolverine correspondent Allen Trieu's scouting report on Ezeh.
