Saturday's last second heroics notwithstanding, the University of Michigan football team failed to return to college football elite for the second-straight week.
The Wolverines received 49 votes in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll, and 58 votes in the AP Writers Poll.
Michigan defeated then No. 8 Penn State on Saturday on a last-second touchdown pass from Chad Henne to Mario Manningham. Penn State fell to No. 14 in the coaches poll, and No. 12 in the writers poll.
Michigan travels to Iowa on Saturday.
