Michigan Football Commitment Number Seven

A top New York defensive end/defensive tackle, and top student, commits to the Wolverines!

GoBLueWolverine jus got off the phone with John Ferrara, a 6-5, 255-pound defensive end/defensive tackle from Msgr. Farrell High School in Staten Island, New York. "Yes, I just committed to Michigan!" John said. John had been under the U-M recruiting radar, but after watching fall film on him, Michigan has offered.

"The Michigan coaches called me, Coach Carr and Coach Stripling. We were talking about a scholarship offer, and then they offered me the scholarship, and I accepted!"

"I also had offers from Penn State, Michigan State, Northwestern, Rutgers, and Ole Miss."

John said he has never camped at Michigan, but that, "I was there last summer, and the summer before, for unofficial visits."

John is also a top student at the prestegious Msgr. Farrell High, saying, "I have a 97% average," and a standing in the top 5% of his graduating class.

We'll have more from and on John after Iowa game day festivities are over.
