Tim Tebow: Michigan Visit Is Set

GoBlueWolverine renewed acquaintances last night with the mother of Florida quarterback Tim Tebow. She filled us in on Tim's visits -- including Michigan -- and his decision timetable. It's all coming together fast now.

GBW had talked at this past summer's Elite 11 Camp with the mother of Jacksonville Nease quarterback Tim Tebow, the top rated high school senior quarterback in the country. We chatted with Mrs. Tebow last night, and here is what she told us:

"Tim is taking his Michigan visit as planned ... for the Ohio State - Michigan game.

"He is looking forward to it. He saw an exciting game in Ann Arbor last year, the Northwestern game. And the Ohio State game this year will be an even better one. Also it'll be good for him to go there late in the fall again when the weather is getting colder -- last year's game was in November too.

"Tim talked to Jamar (WR Jamar Hornsby from Jacksonville Sandalwood) after he came home from the Penn State game a couple weeks ago. Jamar told Tim all about his visit; he said it was an awesome game. I'm sure the Ohio State game will be crazy as well.

"Tim's father and I will be going on the Michigan visit as well -- we're looking forward to it.

"Tim is listing seven schools. He'll be taking his five official visits. He was as at Alabama a couple weeks ago for that official, then there's Michigan, and USC ( Dec. 3). He was at LSU a week ago for an unofficial visit. He is going to Florida for the Florida State game -- we're not sure if that will be an official visit or an unofficial, but Tim is talking about making it an official visit.

"Visits after the season are iffy, because Tim is planning for his team to make it deep into the state tournament this year.

"LSU actually popped up as a school for Tim later than the others, but Tim's father has been spending time in Louisiana lately, so that's how that happened.

"Tim is also considering Florida State and Miami.

(Ed. note: Tebow has actually decided on his five official visits, etc., but he has not told all the schools involved yet and so Mrs. Tebow asked us not to divulge this part in this report.)

"Michigan is far enough away that we've only been able to get to one game a year up there. But Tim has watched all of Michigan's games on TV. We got the ESPN college football package just so he could watch all their games. They have had one wild game after another this season. Scot (Loeffler) has told us that Michigan has had injuries on their offensive line this season -- that's just how it goes sometimes. Tim has had an ankle injury to deal with this season too.

"Tim has his announcement date set as well -- he will commit to the school he chooses on December 14th on ESPN television. He wants to do it early so the other schools can make adjustments with their recruiting. And he also wants there to be enough time for him to be able to turn around and recruit Jamar to the same school!"
