Dorrestein Adds Three Offers, Will Visit U-M

Illinois offensive lineman Perry Dorrestein of Plainfield High School now reports 13 of 14 total offers, including the three he's received in the last week. The towering prospect, whose season is complete, is now focusing on recruiting. He spent Saturday in Evanston to see the Iowa-Northwestern game, and will take a couple more visits within the next month.

GoBlueWolverine.com spoke Sunday with offensive lineman Perry Dorrestein, and the big man said he went to see the Iowa-Northwestern game on Saturday as a guest of the Wildcats. "Man, it was a fun game, and exciting," he said. "I was there on an unofficial visit. Northwestern offered me on Thursday so I went up to check them out. I'll take an official visit up there in late November." Dorrestein said that Illinois and Cincinnati also recently offered.

The Wildcats, along with Michigan and Nebraska, are the top three for the 6-foot-7, 305-pound bruiser, Dorrestein said. The fourth spot is a race between Illinois, Cincinnati, and Purdue. He took an official visit to Nebraska on Oct. 28, and it was once rumored he would visit Michigan for the Ohio State game. However, that isn't the case. "I'll take my official visit to Michigan around the first week of December," he said. "I want to decide before Christmas."

Dorrestein said he will spend the winter lifting and running. He doesn't play any winter sports, but does throw the shot for the track and field team.

Academics are a big factor, Dorrestein said. "Obviously Northwestern and Michigan have that," he added. "I also want to play for a good program and have a chance to get on the field as soon as possible. Northwestern and Illinois are looking good there, as is Michigan."
