Dominique Douglas Takes U-M Visit - Offered?

The season of Dominique Douglas came to an end last weekend when his Detroit Murray-Wright team lost in the regional finals to Rochester Adams. But now his recruiting season is getting kicked into high gear, starting with an unofficial trip out to Ann Arbor for the Michigan-Ohio State matchup.

Detroit Murray-Wright wide receiver Dominique Douglas has seen quite a shift in his recruitment process, going from plenty of attention from MAC-level schools to the likes of Michigan and Ohio State both on the tail of Dominique.

He got a chance to get a taste of both schools this past weekend, when he made an unofficial visit to Ann Arbor for "the game." How'd he enjoy his trip to the Big House?

"Oh, man it was just amazing. Everything was just crazy, it was a real good time," said the up beat Douglas.

As for anything that stood out in particular, Douglas cited the student section as a particular area that impressed. "The students were just going crazy," stated Douglas, continuing, "I had never seen that many people all packed in one place for a football game. At my school, ya know, we don't have anywhere near that capacity, so it was just incredible. And that new building [the Junge Recruiting Center] was just beautiful."

But Douglas didn't let the atmosphere or the game sway him too much. "It was a good time, but all the Ohio State fans that made the trip up, that was pretty impressive too."

Did the visit sway him towards one or the other? "Nah, I mean it was a good time, but I wasn't just going to jump on the Michigan bandwagon if they won, and I'm not all about Ohio State now that they won."

Was Douglas finally able to meet with Coach Carr and have a one-on-one discussion with him?

"Coach Carr came in for a bit before the game, but I didn't get a chance to talk to him after the game, I'm guessing they were all a little bit upset and whatnot."

"I did talk plenty to my recruiter though [wide receivers coach Erik Campbell], and I also talked a little bit with the offensive coordinator [Terry Malone]. He said he was finally going to get a chance to look at my tape this week, and that he was going to give me a call sometime this week to talk. Coach Campbell also said he'd be in touch to get my official set up."

Douglas already has two visits set up, as he'll visit Bowling Green the first week of December, and then travel down to Columbus for an official visit with the Buckeyes during the second weekend of December.

Douglas has remained consistent and hidden about his intentions and who he likes, and when asked for comment again about a favorite, he remained evasive. "Nope, still no favorite. I'm very open to everyone."
