Weekend Visitor Updates - MORE On Everyone

Michigan got one commitment over the weekend -- Florida WR Greg Mathews which we broke. Most of the official visitors got home after 10 PM last night, so we will be calling them this week. In the meantime, we're talked to the 'old verbal commitments' and to those at the visit whom we've reached, and here is the latest on everyone. *ADDED*: Percy Harvin.

Official Visitors:

-- Tim Tebow QB 6'3 225 4.61 (38 bench press reps at Talahassee Nike) Jacksonville Nease Florida. Scout.com's #35 prospect was wearing a boot. He has made official visits now to U-M, Alabama (Oct. 15) and LSU (Nov. 4) and still has Florida (this weekend, Nov. 25) and USC (Dec. 2) to go. He was noncommittal at the visit (see our Patilla/Boren report (link fixed)), and, as before the visit, the Southern schools seem to have the best shot -- especially Florida where his parents are alumni.

-- Greg Mathews WR 6'4 185 Orlando Edgewater Florida. Despite his mother being the daughter of a retired OSU professor, Mathews, with his mom present, committed to U-M. He is a pure tough-guy, over-the-middle receiver with good size.

-- Carlos Brown RB 6'0 195 4.55 Franklin Heard Georgia. Scout.com's #24 South prospect. He was very impressed with Michigan, perhaps the most of all the official visitors (other than Mathews of course). Again, see our Patilla/Boren report (link fixed). He has also made an official to FSU (Nov. 4) but said the U-M visit was better. He may also visit Georgia Tech, Auburn, and Tennessee -- but he has to do them quickly because he graduates in December.

-- Jim Barrie OL 6'5 295 5.10 Tampa Berkeley Prep Florida. He had a good visit and, as before, U-M and FSU (visiting the Dec. 9 weekend) are the favorites, with Florida (this weekend, Nov. 25) now in the mix as well. He has also made officials to Tennessee (Oct. 27) and Notre Dame (Nov. 5). He plans to decide by Christmas.

-- Toryan Smith LB/RB 6'0 241 4.61 Rome Georgia. Scout.com's #91 Southeast prospect.

-- Thaddeus Gibson LB/DL 6'3 207 4.40 Euclid Ohio. Scout.com's #47 prospect. This was his first official visit; he goes to Tennessee next (Dec. 2) and also lists OSU, MSU and Iowa. He loved his U-M visit ... but academics are a lingering concern with him.

-- Jai Eugene 5'11 185 4.45 Destrehan, Louisiana. Scout.com's #48 prospect. He loved his visit (see our Patilla/Boren report), but this was his first official visit, with his supposed-favs coming up: USC (Jan. 15), Miami (Jan. 29), Florida, Tennessee ... and he won't even visit his possible #1, LSU.

-- Visit Cancelled:Micah Johnson DL/LB 6'2 277 4.70 Fort Campbell Kentucky. Scout.com's #10 prospect. He cancelled on Thursday, after saying that haveing a game of his own last weekend made the weekend too tight. We'll see if he reschedules. He has made an official visit to Georgia (Sept. 10) and is also listing Kentucky, Louisville, LSU.

- Visit Not Taken: Greg Banks 6'2 260 5.2 Denver Montebello. This visit is just in December 9, not for last weekend like we'd thought. He also will visit UCLA, Cal, Notre Dame, and Washington (Dec. 2). He is Scout.com's #14 Midlands prospect. He will graduate in December and enroll in college in January.

-- Visit cancelled: OSU commitment RB Chris Wells. This cancellation was not surprising.

-- *ADDED* Visit cancelled: Percy Harvin WR 5'11 182 4.34 Virginia Beach Landstown Virginia. Scout.com's #7 prospect. He suffered an injury Friday, Nov. 18 and cancelled his Nov. 19 U-M official visit. He has already made official visits to Florida (Sept. 16, co-leader), and USC (Oct. 28, co-leader), and has one scheduled to Miami (Dec. 17) … whether he'll reschedule U-M is uncertain. U-M's 'hook': Harvin's sister attends Eastern Michigan University. He will make a decision before Christmas.

Senior Unofficial Visitors::

-- Dexter Larimore DT 6'2 270 4.9 Merriville Indiana. Scout.com #70 Midwest prospect. He made his official visit to U-M for the Minnesota game, and returned for the Indiana and OSU games. He visits OSU on Dec. 2 -- and will choose between the Wolverines and the Buckeyes soon after. Some see this going one way, some see it going the other ...

-- P/K Bryan Wright 6'1 200 Salem Ohio. He was an unofficial visitor for the Notre Dame and Minnesota games, as well as the OSU game. He went home without a U-M offer yet.
