Upcoming January Official Visits:

**NEW**-- (Jan. 27 official visit) Corey Peters DT 6'3 280 4.8 Louisville Central Kentucky. OSU and Kentucky may lead U-M going into Signing Day. OSU is the strongest competition coming into his Jan. 27 U-M visit, but his U-M host is his 'cousin' James McKinney. Signing Day announcement, at 10 AM at his school. His other official visits: Louisville (Dec. 9), Kentucky (Dec. 16), Auburn (Jan. 13), OSU (Jan. 20). He is Scout.com's #51 Midwest prospect.



PAST OFFICIAL VISITS



**NEW**-- (January 20 official visit set): DL/OL Jason Kates 6'2 320 4.97 Harrisburg Bishop McDevitt Pa. He had his U-M in-home Thursday, Jan. 26, and will announce on Signing Day at 2:00 PM at his school -- between U-M and Syracuse. GBW expects a good result! Kates visited Minnesota, Syracuse and Maryland; U-M was his final visit. His U-M interest goes way back ... he wanted to attend the 2005 Michigan Camp but didn't make it. He reports a 2.7 GPA and a 400-plus-pound bench press.

-- (Jan. 20 official visit): QB Nick Stephens 6'3 1/2 210 4.9 Lewisville Flowers Mound Texas. The Ole Miss decommit subsequently picked Tennessee, which had been recruiting him a long time. The Ohio native is Scout.com's #11 QB and #16 Southwest prospect. He threw for 2,700 yards his senior season for the 7-3 Flowers Mound team. He sat out his junior season due to transfer rules.

-- (Jan. 13 official visit) Michigan commitment #16: Quintin Woods DE 6'4 225 4.6 Flint Southwestern Academy. He made an official to U-M on January 13, and committed, cancelling visits to Iowa and Missouri. Woods didn't play football his junior season. As a senior he recorded over 100 tackles and 18 tackles for loss.

**NEW**-- Michigan commitment #18 (January 7 official visit) Adam Patterson DE 6'3 262 4.65 Columbia Richland Northeast South Carolina. Scout.com's #33 East prospect. He announced for U-M on Jan. 31. Michigan has long had an interest in Patterson, a 2004 U-M Camper, and he graced GBW's Best Guess lists through the summmer and fall ... he visited Jan. 7 weekend but didn't commit -- although he told GBW that he had a GREAT visit. His other visits: Tennessee (Jan. 13), South Carolina (Jan. 16), NC State (Jan. 20) and Auburn (the final Jan. 27 weekend). He was a 2004 U-M Camper.

December 16 Official Visit Weekend:

-- (Dec. 16 official visit) Andrew Quarless 6-4 225 4.65 (4.4 shuttle) Uniondale N.Y. He is announced for PSU over U-M on Fri., Jan. 13.

-- (Dec, 16 unofficial, January 20 official visit) Safety Aaron Gant 6'0 200 4.5 Orchard Lake St. Mary's Michigan. He visited OSU on Jan. 13 and committed.

December 9 Official Visit Weekend:

**NEW**-- (Dec. 9 official visit) McKenzie Mathews DE 6'2 240, Christian Brothers Academy, Syracuse, N.Y. U-M has dropped him. He has made visits to Pitt (Sept. 3) and one to Ohio State (Oct. 14), and Boston College Jan. 20. For his senior season he recorded 107 tackles, 10 sacks, one interception and 17 tackles for loss. He is a friend of Wolverine RB Mike Hart. He is Scout.com's #62 East prospect. He had 26 sacks his senior season. Mathews would like to major in accounting.

-- Michigan Commitment #17 (Dec. 9 official visit): RB/FB Brandon Minor 6'2 210 4.5 Richmond Varina Virginia, Scout.com's #38 East prospect, announced his decision, picking Michigan over Tennessee on Jan. 20. Minor visited Michigan on the Dec. 9 weekend, and he visited Tennessee in October. He also visited Miami, and dropped a scheduled Jan. 20 visit to Virginia Tech. Michigan had been in a strong position here for several weeks, and Minor actually made his decision about 10 days ago; GBW had been optimistic about his decision. As a junior Minor ran for for 2,091 yards and 30 touchdowns as Varina went 10-1. A torn hip flexor interrupted his senior season in the first game, but he returned for the final two games of the season. In three games he ran for 500 yards and 10 touchdowns for the 9-1 Blue Devils. He also has a 350 pound bench press, a 38-inch vertical jump, and a 4.2 second shuttle. Minor, a member of USA Today's Top 100, maintained all along that, "Michigan was my favorite team growing up."

-- Michigan commitment #12: (Dec. 9 official visitor) -- FB/LB Obi Ezeh (6-1, 220, 4.6) from Grand Rapids, Mich., Catholic Central. Ezeh made his U-M official visit Dec. 9 – and committed. His commitment was no surprise – he grew up a U-M fan, and was a 3-time U-M Camper. He made an unofficial visit for the PSU game. He is Scout.com's #56 Midwest prospect.

-- Michigan Commitment #6 (Dec. 9 official visit): Steve Brown S/CB 6'1 200 4.39 Columbus East Indiana. Scout.com's #92 prospect. Dec. 9 official visit. Brown, who grew up a U-M fan, blew up the U-M Nike Camp with a 4.39 40, and was rewarded with early offers from Michigan and Notre Dame. He picked the Wolverines over the Irish on Aug. 1st. He broke his ankle in mid-Sept. and had surgery -- he missed the rest of his senior season but toughed it out to play in the Army All American game.

-- Michigan commitment #9: (Dec. 9 official visit) PK Bryan Wright 6'1 200 Salem Ohio. Wright attended the Notre Dame, Indiana and Ohio State games as an unofficial visitor, and a couple days after the OSU game he was offered a scholarship -- and he accepted. OSU immediately got ahold of him and offered as well, so we'll see if he visits there, etc. Wright kicked the 2nd longest field goal in Ohio high school history, a 57-yarder, this season. He also made field goals from 52, 48, 47, 38, 35 and 30 yards. He had just three misses on the season -- from 46, 48 and 55 yards. His dad is from Western Pa. and played for Cincinnati. He also has a 3.6 GPA.



December 2nd: the "O-Line Weekend"

-- Michigan commitment #18 (Dec. 2 official visit): Steve Schilling OL 6'4 290 Bellevue Washington. Scout.com's #12 prospect. He picked U-M on January 26 over Washington, Cal and USC. He and Justin Boren became buddies at their official visit, and at the US Army Game week. He visited Michigan May 22-23, 2005, and Lloyd Carr had visited the school in the winter of 2004/05.

**NEW**-- (Dec. 2 official visit) Daron Rose OL 6'5 290 5.00 Tampa Jefferson Florida. Scout.com's #42 Southeast prospect. GOing into Signing Day, Rose has dropped U-M. Rose visited the Dec. 2nd weekend. He had a great visit, and has a feel for U-M, and has a final three of U-M, South Carolina ( Jan. 13), FSU (Jan. 27), and he also visited Florida (Jan. 20) and South Florida (Dec. 16). 'Watch out' for the final FSU visit.

-- Michigan commitment #11: Perry Dorrestein OT 6'7 280 5.30 (Scout Combine stats) Plainfield Central Illinois. Scout.com's #100 Midwest prospect committed to U-M at his Dec. 2 official visit. He was an unofficial visitor to the PSU game where he was offered a scholarship. His also made an official visit to Nebraska. He was an '05 U-M Camper.

-- Michigan Commitment #13: -- (Dec. 2 official visit) Greg Banks 6'2 260 5.2 Denver Montebello. He had Coach Carr in his home on Thursday, Dec. 15, and he committed to the Wolverines. He also visited Colorado (the Nov. 24 weekend), and has a Cal visit the Dec. 9 weekend. He is Scout.com's #14 Midlands prospect. He had planned to graduate in December and enroll in college in January, but in the end had to go all the way to June to graduate.

-- Michigan Commitment #1: Brandon Graham LB 6'1 235 4.40 Detroit Crockett Michigan. Scout.com's #12 prospect. He had a great Army All-American Bowl game. His official U-M visit is Dec. 2nd. And he may visit PSU on Jan. 14 -- he has it scheduled (click HERE for the story ... is it a threat to U-M? ... nah ... will he visit there? nah ...). From the same program as Penn State's' Edward Johnson and Michigan's John Thompson, Graham is at another level. He is the top prospect in Michigan and one of the nation's elite linebackers. He committed to Michigan in February 2005. Graham has a 3.8 grade-point average.

-- Michigan Commitment #5: Cobrani Mixon LB 6'2 220 4.60 Cincinnati Colerain Ohio. Dec. 2 official visit. Scout.com's #84 prospect committed to U-M on July 27. He was a force in this past June's U-M Camp. He wore a knee brace in the camp since he suffered an ACL injury as a junior although he toughed it out and returned to the field late in the season. He also attended U-M's winter Junior day.

-- Michigan commitment #3: (92) Quintin Patilla LB/RB/WR 6'2 1/2 210 4.65 Flint Carman-Ainsworth Michigan. Dec. 2 official visit. Scout.com's #78 Midwest prospect. The underrated Patilla was a force at OLB at the Michigan Camp, fast and hard-hitting. He was offered a few days after the camp ended, and immediately committed.

-- Michigan Commitment #7: DT/DE John Ferrara 6'5 260 5.0 Staten Island Monsignor Farrell New York. After watching his fall film, U-M offered on Oct. 20 -- and he accepted. The 4.0 student also had offers from PSU, MSU, Duke, Ole Miss, Rutgers and Northwestern.



Nov. 19 (Ohio State Game)

-- Tim Tebow QB 6'3 225 4.61 (38 bench press reps at Talahassee Nike) Jacksonville Nease Florida. Scout.com's #29 prospect subsequently committed to FLorida.

-- Michigan commitment #14 -- (Nov. 18 official visit) Carlos Brown RB 6'0 195 4.55 Franklin Heard Georgia. He was very impressed with his Nov. 18 Michigan official visit, but dropped U-M ... then COMMITTED to the Wolverines on Jan. 19 over South Carolina, Georgia and FSU. He is Scout.com's #39 South prospect and a member of USA Today's Top 100. He enrolled at U-M in January '06.

**NEW**-- Michigan commitment #8: Greg Mathews WR 6'4 185 Orlando Edgewater Florida. Despite his mother being the daughter of a retired OSU professor, Mathews, with his mom present, committed to U-M at his Nov. 18 official visit. He is a pure tough-guy, over-the-middle receiver with good size. He was a four-day U-M Camper this summer. He visited OSU on Jan. 7, and also FSU on Jan. 21 ... his U-M commitment is firm however.

-- Jim Barrie OL 6'5 295 5.10 Tampa Berkeley Prep Florida. He subsequently committed to Florida.

-- Toryan Smith LB/RB 6'0 241 4.61 Rome Georgia. Scout.com's #91 Southeast prospect. He subsequently committed to Notre Dame.

-- Thaddeus Gibson LB/DL 6'3 207 4.40 Euclid Ohio. Scout.com's #47 prospect. He had a great U-M official visit on Nov. 19, but committed to OSU on Jan. 23.

-- **NEW** CB Jai Eugene 5'11 185 4.45 Destrehan, Louisiana. Scout.com's #30 prospect. He committed to U-M over LSU at the US Army Game in Jan. '06 -- then decoimmitted on Jan. 30. His official visits: Michigan (Nov. 19 OSU game), USC (Dec. 16 ... he decided on U-M on his way home from that visit). For his senior season, playing QB, Eugene had over 600 yards rushing and 10 touchdowns and another 1,400 yards passing with 12 touchdowns.

Unofficial Visitors:

-- Michigan commitment #9: PK Bryan Wright 6'1 200 Salem Ohio. Wright attended the Notre Dame, Indiana and Ohio State games as an unofficial visitor, and a couple days after the OSU game he was offered a scholarship -- and he accepted. Wright kicked the 2nd longest field goal in Ohio high school history, a 57-yarder, this season. He also made field goals from 52, 48, 47, 38, 35 and 30 yards. -- (Nov. 11 official visit) Dexter Larimore DT 6'2 270 4.9 Merriville Indiana. He is underrated as the Scout.com #60 Midwest prospect. According to USA Wrestling, Dexter Larimore is the #1 prep heavyweight wrestler in the nation. He subsequently picked OSU in December.

-- Dominique Douglas 6'1 185 Detroit Murray-Wright. He subsequently committed to Iowa.

-- Michigan commitment #3: (92) Quintin Patilla LB/RB/WR 6'2 1/2 210 4.65 Flint Carman-Ainsworth Michigan. Dec. 2 official visit. Scout.com's #78 Midwest prospect. The underrated Patilla was a force at OLB at the Michigan Camp, fast and hard-hitting. He was offered a few days after the camp ended, and immediately committed.

-- U-M Commitment #2: (6) Justin Boren OL 6'3 319 5.20 Pickerington North Ohio. Scout.com's #28 prospect. Dec. 2 official visit. Justin's father, Mike, was a starting linebacker at Michigan in the 1980's. Justin is much bigger than his dad. One of the nation's elite OL's. After OSU got an early lead for him, U-M closed the gap starting with the Feb. 20 Junior Day - and Justin committed to U-M on May 13.

-- Michigan Commitment #5: (30) Cobrani Mixon LB 6'2 220 4.60 Cincinnati Colerain Ohio. Dec. 2 official visit. Scout.com's #84 prospect committed to U-M on July 27. -- Top 5 instate Junior, DB Ron Johnson (6-0, 190) from Muskegon, Mich. He also attended the Northern Illinois and Notre Dame games. -- Top 10 instate junior, TE David "Rocky" Weaver (6-6, 215) from Battle Creek, Mich., Harper Creek. This was the fifth visit for one of the top 10 instate juniors.

-- Top 5 instate Junior OL/DL Joseph Barksdale (6-4, 310) from Detroit Cass Tech. The 2-time U-M Camper is considered one of the top 5 instate juniors. This was his second game this fall.

-- Top 100 Junior OT Joshua Oglesby( 6-7, 320) from Saint Francis, Wisconsin.

-- Top 100 Junior S Eugene Clifford 6'3 210 Cincinnati Colerain Ohio. The '05 U-M Camper and future Top 100 player also attended the Minnesota game.

-- Top 10 Ohio Junior, RB Jordan Mabin (5-11, 185) from Nordania Ohio. Mabin may be the top Jr. RB in Ohio. This was his second game this season.

-- Top 100 Junior QB Pete Lalich 6'4 210 Springfield Virginia. He was the top QB at the Army Junior Combine in Jan. 2006. His coach runs the U-M Kicking Camp.

-- Junior OL Mark Weterer (6-4, 280) from Cincinnati Anderson, Ohio. A top 20 Ohio Junior. This was his second game.

-- Junior DE/OL Mike Garrity (6-3, 275) from Batavia, Illinois. One of the top juniors in Illinois. This was his second game.

-- Junior LM Zane Parr (6-3, 250) from Williamsport Pennsylvania.



Nov. 12 (Indiana Game):

-- (Nov. 11 official visit) Dexter Larimore DT 6'2 270 4.9 Merriville Indiana. He is underrated as the Scout.com #60 Midwest prospect. He subsequently committed to OSU in December.



Oct. 14 (Penn State game):

-- Jamar Hornsby DB/WR 6'4 195 4.45 Jacksonville Sandalwood Florida. Scout.com's #17 prospect. He subsequently committed to Florida in mid-November.



Oct. 7 (Minnesota game):

-- (Oct. 8 official visit) DE Jason Adjepong (6-3, 270, 4.7) from Carteret, Jersey. Adjepong is Scout.com's #90 prospect. He subsequently committed to Virginia Tech in January '06.



Sept. 10 (Notre Dame game):

-- Antwine Perez CB/S 6'2 195 4.53 Camden Woodrow Wilson New Jersey. Scout.com's #41 prospect. He subsequently committed to USC.

-- **NEW** (Sept. 10 official visit) Jonas Mouton S 6'2 212 4.50 Venice California. Scout.com's #48 prospect made his U-M official visit on Sept. 10 for the ND game. U-M, Texas (Jan. 27 official visit) and USC (Dec. 2) are his final three, and he has made his decision, just not announced it. GBW is optimistic about the Army All-American. He also visited LSU (Oct. 14 official visit; he grew up in the Bayou), Nebraska (Sept visit) and Cal (Dec. 9). He is friends with Eugene Germany and, especially, Chris Richards. A Venice coach was one of the coaches at the U-M camp this summer.

-- Darrin Walls CB 6'1 185 4.37 Woodland Hills Pennsylvania (the alma mater of Steve Breaston and Ryan Mundy). Scout.com's #78 prospect. He subsequently committted to Notre Dame.
