The Ten Commitments (written in stone!)

- Commitment #3: LB Quintin Patilla
- Commitment #4: QB David Cone
- Commitment #5: LB Cobrani Mixon
- Commitment #6: DB Steve Brown, Scout.com's #92 player. (Psst ... don't worry about Steve either.)

- Commitment #8: WR Greg Mathews
- Commitment #9: PK Bryan Wright
- Commitment #X: DT Marques Slocum, an '04-05 Top 50 prospect.
Here are the kids we are 'cautiously optimistic' about.
Deciding in December:
-- (Dec. 2 official visit) FB/LB Obi Ezeh (6-1, 220, 4.6) from Grand Rapids, Mich., Catholic Central. The 3-time U-M camper makes his U-M official visit Dec. 2. He has a U-M offer, and has grown up a U-M fan. He made an unofficial visit for the PSU game, and may commit at his official visit, or in early December. He also has offers from Indiana, WMU and EMU.
-- (Dec. 2 official visit) Perry Dorrestein OT 6'7 280 5.30 (Scout Combine stats) Plainfield Central Illinois. He was an unofficial visitor to the PSU game where he was offered a scholarship. His official visits: Nebraska (Oct. 28 visit completed), U-M (Dec. 2), Northwestern (Dec. 9). The '05 U-M Camper will make his decision before Christmas ... we are slightly 'cautiously optimistic' about Dorrestein, less than Ezeh above.
Deciding in January:
-- Jonas Mouton S 6'2 212 4.50 Venice California. Scout.com's #42 prospect made his U-M official visit for Sept. 10 for the ND game. U-M, USC (Dec. 2, just set, for UCLA game ... this visit may get things settled in his mind once and for all) and LSU (Oct. 14 official visit; he grew up in the Bayou) and Nebraska (Sept. 2) are his top 4. Is this a U-M vs. USC battle? Or U-M/Nebraska? Or U-M/LSU? Whichever way, it seems that it's U-M vs. "XXX". He is friends with Eugene Germany and, especially, Chris Richards. A Venice coach was one of the coaches at the U-M camp this summer. An Army All-American, he may announce at the game.
-- Thaddeus Gibson LB/DL 6'3 207 4.40 Euclid Ohio. Scout.com's #47 prospect. He had a great U-M official visit on Nov. 19, but will need to watch it academically. Ohio State, Tennessee (Dec. 2), PSU -- those are his final four, with Miami a possible 5th. He may announce before Christmas, but more likely later on.
Also making pre-New Years Decisions:
-- QB Tim Tebow. He announces Dec. 14 on ESPN, between Florida, Alabama, U-M, USC and LSU.
-- RB Carlos Brown. He graduates in December. His schools: U-M, FSU, South Carolina, Georgia.
-- OT Sam Young. He may announce Dec. 14 on ESPN, without having taken any official visits. His schools: Florida, Miami, Notre Dame, Southern Cal, Stanford, Michigan and Penn State.
-- OT Jim Barrie. His schools: FSU, Florida, U-M.
-- DT Dexter Larimore. His schools: OSU, U-M.
-- DE Greg Banks. He graduates in December. His schools: Colorado, U-M (Dec. 9 visit).
-- LB Toryan Smith. He announces Dec. 5 on ESPN. His schools: Notre Dame, U-M, Oklahoma, Florida.
