N.Y. TE/DE Will Visit U-M This Weekend

GoBlueWolverine.com spoke with the father of a tight end/defensive end prospect from N.Y. who confirmed that his son will visit Michigan this weekend.

The father of Uniondale tight end/defensive end Andrew Quarless confirmed with GoBlueWolverine.com that his son will be in Ann Arbor on an official visit. "Yes, we will be taking a visit to Michigan this weekend," Mr. Quarless said.

However, that was all he would say regarding the fast (4.5 sec. 40) and athletic 6-foot-4, 225-pound Quarless, a four-star prospect and the No. 10 rated tight end in the country according to Scout.com.

Mr. Quarless politely stated that due to a less than pleasant previous experience with the internet media (mis-quoting being the main concern), he was no longer allowing his son to speak with them.

Quarless is listed as having offers that, besides Michigan, include Penn State (Dec. 9 official visit, his first ... he also made an unofficial visit there for a fall game and reportedly attended summer camp there as well), Virginia (unofficial visit, also reportedly attended summer camp there), Miami, Pittsburgh, plus Nebraska and Wisconsin.

Quarless has said that most schools are recruiting him at the tight end position, and that he prefers that spot.

Outside of football, Quarless is involved in his community. He is a member of "Athletes Helping Athletes," a group that speaks to younger students about the importance of balancing athletics and academics.
