Defensive lineman Greg Banks of Montbello High School in Denver returned from an official visit to Cal this weekend, and he will decide on Friday whether the Bears, Colorado, or Michigan gets the nod, according to Montbello Head Coach Oliver Lucas.
"He had a great visit to Cal," Lucas said. "I really don't know anything that I can tell you about which way he is leaning; we'll all know on Friday. He was thinking about taking another visit to Washington, but that doesn't look like it's going to happen."
The firing of head coach Gary Barnett appears to have had some impact on the positioning of Colorado. "Sure, it had a big affect," Lucas said. "They don't have a successor in place, so he's had to reconsider going there."
Lucas said the Michigan coaches will be in the Banks home on Thursday. "The head coach Lloyd Carr, the defensive line coach, and the coach that is recruiting him (Terry Malone) will all be here," he said.
There will be no other in-homes this week, according to Lucas.
Banks, who visited U-M during the weekend of Dec. 2 and Colorado during the Nov. 24 weekend, is Scout.com's No. 14 Midlands prospect.
And, by the way, Friday is Banks' birthday.
