Ryan Mallett Profile
GoBlueWolverine chatted just briefly with Mallett, who will be one of next year's top two quarterbacks in the nation.
Which schools are recruiting you the hardest?
"The University of Michigan and the University of Texas. Although I haven't heard from any schools in the last week or so, and I haven't contacted any myself. I'm busy with basketball now."
Note: It's been the holiday "Dead Period" this whole week through the bowl games, so no contact by colleges is allowed.
So will you be watching the National Championship game with particular interest?
"Well ... I know Texas is signing a couple top quarterbacks this year (Jevan Snead, Sherrod Harris). And USC has Mark Sanchez coming up next year."
Are you planning on attending the Alamo Bowl?
"No, I can't. I'll have a basketball tournament going on that weekend."
How about the All-Star Army game? Are you coming down for that?
"No, I want to, I wanted to come down for the Junior Combine. But again I can't. I have another basketball tournament the night before."
