Army AA: Steve Brown Gets the OK to Play

Michigan defensive back commitment Steve Brown of Columbus, Ind., East High School had his football season cut short after injuirng his ankle and having surgery in Sept. However, the four-star player will play in one more high school game - the biggest of them all. spoke briefly with defensive back and Michigan commitment Steve Brown of Columbus, Ind., High School about his progress after missing most of his season with a broken ankle, which required surgery.

"The ankle is doing well," he said. So Brown will participate in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Game on Jan. 7 in San Antonio, Texas.

"I got the okay from Coach (Ron) English to play a little," he said. "They don't want me playing a lot but said I could play on it a little to see how it feels."

The No. 9 rated defensive back in the nation according to will trek to San Antonio on New Years Day. "My parents are coming down, we're all excited about the trip and the game," he said.

Brown said his plans for the spring are to continue to rehab the ankle, and that he plans on making a few trips to Ann Arbor before heading up for good in the summer. will be on hand in San Antonio to bring you up-to-the-minute reports on Brown, and the other Michigan commitments and prospects participating in the big game.
