Louisiana Running Back Coming Up To Michigan

One of the hottest rising running backs in the South favors the Wolverines.

"I had 1,995 yards this season," Patterson, La. running back William Griffin told GoBlueWolverine. His yards per carry for the season were a spectacular 10+.

And is Michigan recruiting you?

"Yeah, I'm going up there for an official visit on the 13th on January."

What other official visits do you have scheduled?

"I've been to Arkansas already. I'm going to Louis Tech January 6, and then to Michigan the 13th."

"That's where I really want to go, to Michigan."

Has Michigan offered you a scholarship?

"No. They have not offered me a scholarship yet. Coach Jackson said they want me to come up there on a visit and see if I like it first. I talk to Coach Jackson all the time, he's been recruiting me a long time ... he's originally from Baton Rouge."

"If Michigan offers me when I'm up there, I'll commit."

Griffin also has offers from LSU and Ole Miss.

Griffin's Scout Combine stats this spring: 5-10 1/2, 198 lbs., 4.41 shuttle, 36-inch vertical jump.

However, he told us, "I'm up to 5-11 now, and 210 pounds. My average 40 yard dash time is a 4.5 ... I ran a 4.48 the last time I ran it, not too long ago."

Michigan's available scholarships may be 19-20 now -- stay tuned on this one!
