Thad Gibson: Two Favorites; Presser Coming

GoBlueWolverine spoke chatted for a while Wednesday evening with the father of Cleveland linebacker Thaddeus Gibson,'s no. 53 prospect. Among other things, Mr. Gibson explained what will happen over the next couple days.

Thaddeus Gibson Profile

"Thaddeus is going to announce his decision early next week," Mr. Gibson told GoBlueWolverine.

"We will sit down and talk about it as a family over the weekend. And he'll announce his decision on Monday or maybe Tuesday."

Will there be a press conference?

"Yes, they'll be a press conference I believe. His coaches are talking to him about how to do it. They'll set it up for us."

Who is it down to for Thaddeus?

"He has his three finalists -- Michigan, Ohio State and Tennessee."

"I believe he actually has a final two that are tied and that he's going to be trying to choose from this weekend."

"I'm not a liberty to say which two ..."

Has Thaddeus been talking to Michigan players?

"He's got some friends at Michigan, yes. Pierre (Woods) and Prescott (Burgess), and he and Carlos Brown became friends at their Michigan visit and have talked recently as well. And he has some friends on the other teams as well."

Thaddeus took his final visit to Ohio State this weekend ... was he just there for one day?

"He had a basketball game, so he went there late on Saturday, stayed Saturday and Sunday nights and came back Monday." (Monday was a holiday).

Mr. Gibson concluded by saying:

"It's been a terrific run for Thaddeus, but it's time for him to make his decision and move forward. Everyone here is proud of him ... it's time for him to put this to rest now so he can focus on finishing his senior year of high school."

"We are appreciative of all of you guys in the media that have covered Thaddeus' recruitment and have treated us so well."
