After claiming that his official visit to USC would be his last, safety Jonas Mouton of Venice, Calif., High School decided to use his final allotted visit to see what the current National Champion Texas Longhorns had to offer. "Yes, he is in Texas right now," Duran Mouton, Jonas's mother told GoBlueWolverine.com on Saturday. "I'm not sure how serious he is about them, but he decided he wanted to take a look."
The 6-foot-2, 210-pound Mouton visited Nebraska on Dec. 2, Michigan on Sept. 10, LSU on Oct. 14, and the Trojans on Dec. 2. He dropped the Cornhuskers and said he would choose between Michigan, USC, and LSU on Feb. 1, the day recruits can sign the letters of intent to the college of their choice.
The connection with the Longhorns is strong. Duran Mouton hails from Austin, and is a graduate of the University of Texas. "It was sure nice to see them win it all this year," she said. "It's been 35-years, I remember the last time the Tower lit up orange with the big No. 1. It hasn't happened in a while."
