Peters to Reunite at U-M with HS Teammate

The recruiting process for defensive lineman Corey Peters of Central High School in Louisville, Ky., is winding down. He will take his final official visit this weekend to the University of Michigan. The three-star prospect is the former teammate of current U-M freshman James McKinney.

It's been a busy week for defensive lineman Corey Peters of Central High School in Louisville, Ky. The three-star prospect returned from his official visit to Ohio State on Tuesday, and will leave for his final official visit, this time to Michigan, on Friday. "Ohio State is big," Peters told "It's the first time I'd been up there and I had a good time. I'd say they are recruiting me the hardest right now, they've really come on recently."

Peters has also visited Kentucky, Louisville, and Auburn, and they join U-M and OSU as his final five. "I really don't have a favorite," he said. "After my Michigan visit I'll start to narrow things down, and I'll announce my decision at my school on Signing Day." He added that his mother would be joining him on the trip.

Before the 6-foot-3, 280-pound Peters leaves for Ann Arbor, he will host the Michigan coaches. "They are coming on Wednesday," he said.

Peters is a former teammate if current Michigan freshman James McKinney. The two talk frequently, and Peters said his friend speaks highly of U-M. "He really likes it up there," Peters said. "He's letting me make my own decision, but he wants me to come to Michigan with him."

Peters is also on the wrestling team at Central. "Wrestling really helps me as a football player," Peters told "A lot of the movement is the same that you use on the football field." He is 15-5 this season.
