Corey Peters: U-M's Sole Visitor This Weekend

GoBlueWolverine spoke with Michigan's only official visitor this final weekend of the recruiting season, Corey Peters from Louisville, Kentucky -- the unofficial cousin of Michigan freshman defensive end James McKinney.

6-foot-3, 290-pound Louisville defensive lineman Corey Peters told GoBlueWolverine:

"I'm coming up for my official visit this weekend. James will be my host I'm sure."

"Michigan coaches were at school yesterday -- Coach Carr and Coach Herrmann. I had a wrestling match and they came and watched me."

Peters, the #6 Heavyweight wrestler in Kentucky, won his match in front of the U-M coaches.

So does anyone have the edge for Peters?

"No, I don't really have a leader ... it's Ohio State, Michigan, Auburn, and Kentucky ... and Louisville too."

(Note: a certain close friend of Peters tells GBW that OSU may well be 'the competition')

Is Michigan a serious contender for you?

"Well ... It all depends on how I like the visit."

Did you get up to Michigan this summer or fall?

"Yes. I didn't get to the Michigan Camp, but I went up to a game this fall, the Notre Dame game."

James is a defensive end ... where on the D-line will you line up?

"I'm a defensive tackle."

He told us his decision process:

"I'll sit down and start making my decision when I get home from my visit. I'll announce on Signing Day -- there will be a little thing at at my school, at 10 AM."

Peters is's #51 Midwest prospect.
