Four days ago, Texarkana, Texas QB Ryan Mallett had reported to GoBlueWolverine:
"I have gotten my written offer in the mail from Michigan, and I got one from Texas as well."
Since then, there have been rumors that Oklahoma was 'making a run' at the talented signalcaller. So GBW went to the source: while the Sooners are on his list, he told us:
"Actually, I have never talked to Oklahoma."
His full list of eight: Michigan, Texas, Arkansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and also Baylor, Miami and Texas A&M ... Nebraska and Baylor had previously sent him written offers.
Back to basketball, the 6-foot-7, 240-pounder also told us a couple days ago that, "I am averaging 12 points a game," as starting point guard (for the 3rd straight season) for Texarcana, and that, "We won our 20th game Friday, against Paris. We're 20 and 9 now."
After a legendary appearance at the Michigan Camp last summer (click HERE for Quintin Patilla's audio story version of it), Mallett has said he's return to the U-M Camp this summer, as well as possibly visiting for a spring practice.
