Another Signee's Teammate on U-M: Drew Davis

Denver Montbello is sending defensive end Greg Banks to Michigan this fall ... and one of Banks' teammates is thinking about following him to Ann Arbor.

Denver Montbello's Drew Davis is a strong 6-foot-2, 210-pound wide receiver with a 4.5 second 40 yard dash. He spoke to GoBlueWolverine:

Are Michigan and Colorado your favorite schools?

"Michigan and Colorado are two ... but I actually have a top five: I also like USC, South Carolina, and Alabama."

Who has offered you so far?

"No one yet ... schools are telling me there will be offers in the future."

Have you been hearing from Michigan?

"Yes. Their offensive coordinator (Mike Debord) has taken over my recruitment (Terry Malone formerly had Colorado for U-M, and he has just recently talked to my coach."

Why are you interested in Michigan?

"Well, my interest in Michigan is very high. Ever since I was a little kid I've liked them; I've watched their games on TV."

So would you call yourself a Michigan fan?

"Yeah, I am."

Have you ever been to Michigan?

"No, I haven't. But Greg (U-M signee Greg Banks) has told me about his trip there. He had all good things to say -- the coaches, the facilities, the players, he just speeks highly of all of it."

What are your spring and summer plans?

"I'm working on that. I'll go to probably one spring combine, and at least one summer camp. But I'm still thinking about which ones."

What is your timetable?

"I am graduating in December. So I am going to try to take my official visits early in the season so I can make my choice by the end of November."

After his junior season, Davis caught 45 passes for 988 yards and 13 touchdowns, and was named to the Denver Post All-State team. Some consider him to be the top junior prospect in the state of Colorado.
