Cedric Everson Keeping Options Open

Detroit Mumford cornerback Cedric Everson may not have garnered some of the recognition that his in-state counterparts have, but it is becoming more and more clear that his name should be mentioned in the same breath. The 5-11, 170 pound athlete used his impressive speed (4.4 in the 40, 21.5 in the 200m, and 47.9 in the 400m) to help him turn an outstanding season from his corner position last year. GoBlueWolverine caught up with him recently to find out where things stand in his recruitment.

What were your stats on defense last year?

"I had 13 interceptions… 10 of them I took back for touchdowns. I also had 65 tackles and 8 of them were sacks."

How did your team do last year?

"My team did good. Our whole team was juniors last year, so everybody is back."

Was Michigan's junior day the first time you had been there?

What schools have offered you so far?

"Indiana, Iowa, Notre Dame, Eastern Michigan, Michigan State."

Have you talked to Michigan about an offer?

"I was talking with one of the coaches on the phone, but I forgot which coach I it was. He was talking about offering me a scholarship but he said he had a lot of stuff to handle. He said they'd be giving me a call."

Is Notre Dame at the front of the pack for you?

"Yeah."

Will you be camping there this summer.
