It's been a long and often times rough road for five-star defensive lineman Marques Slocum of Philadelphia, Pa. After missing a qualifying test score, which kept him from enrolling at Michigan in the fall, he went to the Milford Academy in New York.
The 6-foot-5, 320-pound Slocum was spotted at tonight's Michigan-Minnesota basketball game being played at Crisler Arena in Ann Arbor. GoBlueWolverine.com spoke with his mother to find out if he was now a resident at Michigan. "He is up there for the night; Coach (Lloyd) Carr invited him up there for the game," Mrs. Slocum said.
As far as his test scores, she said: "He just took his SAT and ACT, and we're waiting on those scores. He should be back here in Philly tomorrow."
Slocum said earlier that he is working with a tutor, and has found a new dedication to his education.
