GoBlueWolverine spoke on Sunday to 'big RB' Ryan Houston (6-3, 235, 4.7) from Butler High School in Watthews, North Carolina. We started out by asking about camp last summer.
"Yes, I was at the Michigan Camp last summer. Our whole team didn't go -- it was me and a couple other Butler guys, Eddie Whitley and T.J. Drakeford (a safety who impressed)."
"I worked out at running back; I ran a 4.7 in the 40."
You're a big guy for a running back! Is that what you play for Butler?
"Yeah, I'm a running back, not a fullback or anything. Last season I ran for 1,910 yards and 34 touchdowns, and I had 236 receiving yards too."
Did Michigan offer you a scholarship at camp?
"No, not at camp. They offered me just a couple of weeks ago."
Are you going to go back this summer?
"Ummm ... Im going to try to. I'm not sure about camps yet. But I'll visit Jamar (Adams) at least once this summer in Ann Arbor; but I'm not sure if it'll be during camp week."
So you and Jamar are friends?
"Oh yeah. He came up to our school a few weeks ago, before his winter semester started. He told me to get my grades together, he says it's a different atmosphere in college and I have to start getting ready for it -- both as far as football and academically."
"And I'll go up there (to Michigan) for an official visit ... when depends on when our season ends."
Who else has offered you?
"Virginia, Virginia Tech, NC-State, Wake Forrest, Notre Dame, Florida, Tennessee, South Carolina."
Are you going to attend any spring combines?
"I'll go to the All-American Combine at the end of March."
Do you have a list of favorites?
"I have a top five: Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, Michigan, and Georgia (they haven't offered me)."
