Massillon (Ohio) Washington linebacker/safety Andrew Dailey has been around Michigan over the past year, having attended the 2005 Michigan Camp and the 2006 U-M 'spring game'. And last weekend he was one of the headliners at the Scout.com Louisville Combine. GoBlueWolverine caught up with Andrew Thursday evening.
You were at the Louisville Scout.com Combine last weekend and looked real good -- what were your stats there?
"I ran a 4.7 sec. 40 time, I did pretty well in the cone drill, and I had a 31 inch vertical."
GBW note: he measured 6-2, 212, and he also did an outstanding 4.2 sec. shuttle.
What position are you being recruited as?
"Outside linebacker and strong safety. But I will most likely be playing linebacker in college."
What schools have offered you so far?
"Penn State, Central Michigan, Akron, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Purdue, and Cincinnati."
What are your summer plans, which camps are you attending?
"June 3rd I'm going to Notre Dame, June 11th I'm going to Florida's camp, and I'll be making an appearance for a day at the Penn State camp, the Ohio State camp and the Michigan camp."
So are you going to camps with the intention of winning offers?
"Yeah, the coaches at U of M told me that they would probably offer me after camp. I camped there last summer too."
What school or schools did you grow up rooting for?
"Notre Dame, Ohio State and the Gators."
Describe yourself as a player – what do you view as your strengths?
"I really see my speed as a big strength of mine, especially on the field."
What is your decision timetable: are you going to make an early decision, or do you see yourself taking official visits in the fall?
"I'm going to take a few official visits in the fall. I'll commit when I find the right school but right now I haven't."
