The intensity of Lakewood St Edward tight end Kyle Hubbard's recruitment has picked up intense in recent weeks. The 6-3, 220-pounder knew his status as a first-year varsity player would cause most schools to take a wait and see approach. After a strong showing at last month's Nike camp at Ohio State, a few programs have seen enough already. A few others, including Michigan, are hoping to see a little more.
"Kentucky and Pitt and couple of MAC schools have offered so far," Hubbard said. "Coach Loeffler from Michigan came by my school. He wanted to get me down there for one day of camp so Coach Carr could see me. I think I'll come up there for one day, but I don't know which one yet."
Ann Arbor won't be Hubbard's only camping stop this summer.
"I know I'm going down to Virginia," he said. "I'm also supposed to go down to Kentucky, Pittsburgh, and Ohio State. I was supposed to go down to Miami of Florida the 17th, but I don't think I'm doing that."
Despite all of the recent attention from new suitors, Hubbard indicated that there has been no change in his leader board of Michigan, Miami, and Ohio State. However, summer offers from one or more of those programs won't necessarily lead him to make an immediate decision.
"My top three is the same," said Hubbard. "If they offer me I think I'm going to wait until the season when I can take an official visits. If something happens and I want to commit early, then I'll just commit early."
GoBlueWolverine will have more on Hubbard in the coming weeks.
