Gibson to transfer to Michigan

Former Grand Blanc (MI) center Zach Gibson announced in an interview with the Ann Arbor News today that he will transfer from Rutgers to the University of Michigan. The 6-10, 215-pounder will pay his own way during his initial season in Ann Arbor (during which he cannot participate in games), and then receive a scholarship for the final three years of his eligibility.

Gibson participated in only ten games during his freshman campaign at Rutgers, averaging 1.1 points and one rebound per contest. During his final season at Grand Blanc High he teamed with future Wolverine K'len Morris to lead the Bobcats to the regionals. Along the way, GoBlueWolverine's third ranked player in the in-state class of 2005 averaged 16.4 points, 9.5 rebounds, 4.2 blocks, 2.6 assists and made first team All-State in both the Detroit News and the Detroit Free Press.
