Instate WR James Rogers Commits to U-M!

Under NCAA rules, a recruit cannot commit at camp -- he has to go home and then do it. And so the father of Madison Heights Lampheer wide receiver James Rogers just informed GoBlueWolverine that Rogers has committed to Michigan. *MORE*

Instate wide receiver James Rogers (6-3, 180) from Madison Heights Lampheer was a full-week Michigan camper, and GoBlueWolverine spoke late this afternoon to his father.

Rogers had had a strong camp right from the start (GBW listed him on Monday as performing well: U-M Camp Day Two (Monday)).

Rogers was fast and caught the ball all week. And he topped things off by winning the Smokehouse Award as the fastest camper.

Rogers' father informed GoBlueWolverine that, "James was offered by Michigan -- and he has committed."

Rogers is one of those 'sleeper camp commits' that happens every year -- but he also won an offer a week ago at the Colorado camp -- as a running back -- and he also had several MAC offers, also as a RB. However, he worked out all week at the U-M Camp as a receiver -- as we said, he was fast -- and he caught the ball the best of all the wideouts in attendance this week.

Rogers is Michigan commitment number seven.

(Note: will there be another camp commitment announced soon ... stay tuned.)
