Eugene Clifford Profile
Cincinnati safety/wide receiver Eugene Clifford (6-2, 190, 4.45), Colerain High School, denies a leader, but seems to favor Ohio State and Michigan--both offered.
"I have about 15 offers now, but I can't say if I have a leader," Clifford said. "Two of my newest offers came from West Virginia and Indiana. West Virginia is the only school offering me as a wide receiver.
"Ohio State has offered me. I really connected to coaches, (John) Peterson (recruiting coordinator) and Tim Beckman (defensive backs), when I first met them. Ohio State is a little over two hours from home. My parents want me to go there because it's close and they are big Buckeyes fans," he said.
"Michigan was my first offer. I went to four days of their five-day camp about two weeks ago. I like them because I would have a chance to start my freshman year.
"I like Florida State and Miami for the same reasons. I've watched them since I was little and they play with such intensity--the whole team swarms to the ball. They both have strong defenses. Plus, my grandparents live out there. Neither school has offered me yet though," Clifford said.
"I might commit during the season--maybe. I definitely will take an official visit to Ohio State; and to Florida State or Miami too, if they offer me. I've been to Michigan enough times to basically know everything I need to know about the school, so I don't plan to take an official visit there."
Clifford reports a 2.6 core GPA and awaits his June 10 ACT.
