Manny Abreu Profile
Union City (N.J.) outside linebacker Manny Abreu (6-4, 235), from Union Hill High School, said he favors Florida State slightly over Florida, Rutgers, Boston College and Michigan. He said he's unclear about who's really offered.
"I'm really good at running sideline-to-sideline, but I want to work on finishing off tackles," Abreu said.
"The only school I've visited is Rutgers because it's the closest--only an hour from home. So, I am going to take some official visits in the season. I have to see the schools first and what the programs are all about before I can commit anywhere.
"Florida State's coaches are real fun to be around. I want coaches who are no pressure, laugh instead of always being so serious, and want to win. Those are the kind of coaches at Florida State, Florida, Rutgers, Boston College and Michigan, and that's why these are my top five schools," he said. "Every campus is going to have a good weight room, football field and equipment. The most important thing is who's coaching you.
Abreu claims to squat 500, bench press 315 and clean 304. He said he hasn't run a forty since his freshman year.
He denies knowing his GPA or his SAT score.
