Toney Clemons Has a Ride

Two Super Wideouts top Michigan's wide receiver recruiting list: South Carolina's J.R. Hemingway and Pennsylvania's Toney Clemons. Unlike Hemingway, Clemons is not planning an early decision. But, he told GoBlueWolverine, he'll get to Ann Arbor often this fall.

Wide receiver Toney Clemons from New Kensington, Pa. (north of Pittsburgh) is looking hard at Michigan and Pitt, and also has offers from West Virginia, Ole Miss, Akron, Connecticut, Michigan State, Colorado, Cincinnati and Purdue. Tennessee, Maryland, Georgia Tech and Ohio State may also offer soon.

Toney isn't rushing through his recruiting process, as he told GoBlueWolverine on Sunday -- but his Michigan interest is strong.

Do you have an official set up with Michigan yet?

"Not yet. I haven't set up any official visits."

Do you think you will be visiting Michigan again before school starts?

"Probably not. The next time I go visit will probably be after Michigan's season starts."

Do you plan on coming to any Michigan games?

"Definitely. I have a ride to the games so I plan on coming to as many games as I can."

Note: Clemons is a cousin of Steve Breaston, so he can catch a ride to Ann Arbor any time with the Breastons.

Clemons will likely wait until the December-January period to make his final decision.

As a junior the 6-foot-3, 190-pound Clemons caught 39 passes for 666 yards and eight touchdowns.

In track this past spring, Clemons was the state champion in the 110-high hurdles (14.36 seconds) and the long jump (23 feet, 2 1/4 inches).
