Fla. OL Clyde Yandell Hoping For U-M Offer

Clyde Yandell is one of the top offensive line prospects in North Florida this year. The St. Augustine (Nease) standout with Michigan connections has around 20 offers ... but the two he'd like most haven't come across yet.

Clyde Yandell Profile

Clyde Yandell is one of the top offensive line prospects in North Florida this year and the St. Augustine (Nease) standout is excited that the season is here.

"We put in a lot of hard work over the summer," Yandell said. "Monday through Thursday we were out there as a team getting a lot accomplished -- lifting, running, installing new plays, all of that."

Yandell, whose Nease team plays Bolles tonight in a Kickoff Classic, will be playing offensive line after playing defense last year.

"I'm really excited about playing offense this year," he said. "I had a good spring game on offense. Michigan and Notre Dame are the two schools I'm waiting to hear from about scholarship offers and it's because they don't have any tape of me playing offense. Hopefully once they see me play a couple games, they'll go ahead and offer."

The talented lineman has an offer list that is well into the twenties. Still, he's hoping for those two schools to come through.

"I have a lot of good choices," he said. "I haven't really cut the list down yet. I plan on making a decision sometime in September so I can focus on helping my team win another state championship. I'm going to wait for an answer from those two schools. Of the ones who have offered, I'm still looking at Florida, Georgia Tech, Northwestern, Maryland, N.C. State, and Louisville."

The only visit on his mind right now is a trip to Atlanta in a couple weeks.

"I'm going to visit Georgia Tech on September 2nd for when they play Notre Dame," he said. "It'll give me a chance to see both schools but I'll be there as a Georgia Tech recruit. I've already seen Florida and I went to Michigan and Notre Dame over the summer for their camps. I'm not sure about the others yet."

GoBlueWolverine note: the Yandells have family connections in Michigan, on the east side of the state.
