Fla. Linebacker Looking Hard At Michigan

Miami Florida linebacker/fullback Darran Kinsey has seven scholarship offers, including an offer from one of his favorites, and he is hoping for one from his other fav. GoBlueWolverine spoke with Kinsey about it.

Darran Kinsey (6-1, 245, 5.0) is a talented linebacker/fullback who played his junior season at Homestead High School, where he had over 50 tackles as a linebacker. He has transferred to Gulliver Prep, where he'll play his senior season.

GoBlueWolverine spoke to Kinsey.

Is Michigan in contact with you?

"Yes, Coach Campbell has stayed in contact with me this summer."

Is Michigan one of your favorites?

"Yes they are. But Michigan hasn't offered me yet. Coach Campbell said he wants to scout me in the fall first."

Who has offered you so far?

"I have offers from Auburn (his favorite growing up) Minnesota, Kansas State, Aub, Wisconsin, and Michigan State."

Do you have any fall visits set yet?

"I've got a Michigan State official visit scheduled, for their game against Notre Dame."

Kinsey has had to sit out because of his transfer to Gulliver Prep -- thus his weight gain. His normal playing weight is around 220 pounds, and at that weight he runs around a 4.8 40.

With U-M linebacker recruits somewhat scarce, Michigan fans should keep an eye on Kinsey.
