Leonard Hankerson Profile
Leonard Hankerson is one of the state's top wide receiver prospects this year and the St. Thomas Aquinas standout talked about the latest.
"We're 2-0 right now," Hankerson said. "My biggest goals at this point are just to play hard, focus on winning, and win the championship game this year. We just have to go one game at a time."
Through two games this season, Hankerson has five catches for 56 yards and one touchdown. He's seeing a lot of double teams.
"I know that's gonna happen so we just have to keep spreading the ball around," he said. "There's a lot of guys in our offense who can make big plays."
Hankerson, 6-foot-3 and 200 pounds, has not yet scheduled any recruiting visits but says he's able to name a top five.
"They would be Miami, Ohio State, Florida, Michigan, and N.C. State," he said. "I just don't have any of the dates for visits scheduled yet."
The standout receiver attended the FSU/Miami game earlier this week and talked about what he thought.
"It was a good game to me," he said. "There was a lot of defense. Miami has a good QB and I thought the receivers did a good job. It was the first game of the year so neither offense was really clicking like it should."
Hankerson, who says coaches from all five of his favorites, have called this week, talked about what will be important in his decision.
"I'm looking for playing time my freshman year," he said. "After that, I want a good coaching staff, a good education, and the opportunity to play in a big time conference."
Hankerson says he's fully qualified with a 2.4 GPA and a 1000 on the SAT.
