BC OL Commit in Ann Arbor for UW Game

OL Dave Molk is already in the fold, but Michigan is looking for a couple offensive tackles for the recruiting class of 2007. Nick Schepis of Walsh Jesuit High School in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio committed to Boston College. However, he was in Ann Arbor on Saturday at the invitation of the Michigan staff. GoBlueWolverine.com spoke briefly with Nick's father.

Offensive lineman Dave Molk of Lemont, Ill., High School committed to the Wolverines at the beginning of August. And it appears that Michigan may want to take two tackles in this recruitng class as well.

To that end, the Wolverines invited Nick Schepis of Walsh Jesuit High School in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio up to Ann Arbor to catch the Wolverines take on Wisconsin. Schepis is a Boston College commitment. GoBlueWolverine.com spoke with Tony Schepis, Nick's father, about the visit.

"The Michigan coaches have been talking to us about coming up for a visit," Tony Schepis said. " So Nick and I went up for the game and had a chance to talk with them. Michigan is one of those rare schools that offers great academics, not good, but great academics, and we wanted to visit."

Mr. Schepis said that an offer was not forthcoming from the Michigan staff during the visit, but that wasn't something they were looking for on the visit. "Nick is committed to Boston College," he said. "One of the reasons he committed to them was because of the quality of their academics and the quality of their football program. If you look at the schools that were interested in Nick - Stanford, Northwestern, Boston College, Michigan - all of them have great academics."

Editors Note: Schepis attended the Scout.com Louisville combine this spring, where he registered stats of 6-3, 275, a 5.34 sec. 40, a 4.8 sec. shuttle, and a 24.6 inch vertical.

Schepis is not the only elsewhere-committed O-lineman U-M has invited to a game this fall; Pennsylvania OT Brad Hallick, a Virginia Commitment, attended the Vandy game for a similar 'look-see' to Schepis'.

Other senior offensive linemen attending games so far this fall:

-- instater OT Mike Vandermuelen (6-6, 275) has attended the Vandy and Wisconsin games.

-- instater OL/DL Ryan Wheat (6-4, 290) attended the Vanderbilt game.

-- Wisconsin OL Matt Simmons (6-4, 310) attended the Wisconsin game (GBW spoke to him Sunday evening as well).
