Dionte Allen Back on the Radar

All has been quiet on the recruiting front for Orchard Lake St. Mary's corner Dionte Allen for quite some time, but that is about to change. The four-star prospect recently indicated that he plans to take a few visits.

When Orchard Lake St. Mary's cornerback Dionte Allen committed to Florida State back in August, the window of opportunity for other schools to recruit him seemed to have been officially closed.  Recently, though, the talented prospect reopened it just a crack.

" I'm pretty sure I'm probably going to visit Michigan," Allen said.  "I'll probably go to Ohio State too.  I don't plan to go any place besides those two…not right now.  I don't know when I'm going to go.  I was going to try to go (to the Michigan - Ohio State game) on the 18th, but I think we're going to be playing."

If everything goes as planned for Allen and Orchard Lake, the youngster's Saturdays won't be free until the month of December.  If the 7-2 Eaglets are to make it to the finals, there's a strong possibility that they would have to match-up with another powerhouse program, thus pitting Allen against another highly ranked prospect.

"We're doing all right," Allen said regarding his team.  "We lost to Brother Rice, but we're in the playoffs.  Hopefully we end up playing Ronald Johnson and Muskegon.  We play White Lake (Lakeland) this week.  Then we would probably play Walled Lake Central.  Then we would probably play Davison.  If we win that game we would probably be playing the winner of that Muskegon Lowell game."

With all the focus on his high school season, Allen hasn't had time to take in much Michigan football.  However, he has been able to take a peek at the Wolverines from time to time and has found the Ron English-led defense to be quite impressive.

"They work hard," Allen said regarding the Michigan defense.  "They're doing real good.  I actually talked to Coach English today.  He asked me if was I opening back up.  I just told him that I was taking a couple of visits.  That's all I can really say right now."

Allen went on to indicate that he still considers himself committed to Florida State.

GoBlueWolverine will have more on Allen in the coming weeks.
