This 4-star CB from Miami Pace HS is one of the more exciting players in South Florida. He was an early commitment to the University of Miami, but has decided to take visits. He already has planned visits to such big name programs as Tennessee, Ohio State and Florida. Will he take a visit to Rutgers and give them a chance to show him what they have to offer?

Rutgers has entered into the Demarcus Van Dyke sweepstakes. The 6'1 CB, with legit sub 4.4 speed, has the size, speed and athleticism to make him one of the more coveted secondary players in the nation.

Van Dyke, while still committed to Miami, will travel to Knoxville this weekend to catch the Tennessee Volunteers host the LSU Tigers. He also has trips set to the swamp for when Florida hosts South Carolina and will be in Columbus, Ohio for the big-game between the Ohio State University and Michigan.

With those three visits already set, and two available dates remaining, SOR asked DeMarcus "Who will be the lucky two remaining schools to get visits?" He responded "well, I may take one to Miami. I don't know about that one yet. The three other schools that I am considering visiting are Rutgers, Wisconsin and Michigan. I'll come up with a decision on that after the season ends."

In terms of Rutgers, DeMarcus was proud to state "they were the first school to offer me. They have done a great job recruiting down in Dade. I know Timmy (Brown) and Chris-Paul (Etienne) and they were both good players from down here. I am being recruited by Coach Darren Rizzi, and we had a good talk last Tuesday. Me and Rizzi are tight."

When asked what the chance of his visiting Rutgers, he stated "they have a good chance. I saw them play against Connecticut this week and they play a nice style of defense. I'll watch them play against Louisville again next week".

Pace High School has a bye this week and start the playoffs next week against Cardinal Gibbons HS in Broward County, Florida. DeMarcus will also compete in the first ever MSL All-American All-Star game on January 6th in Orlando, Florida. SOR.com will keep you updated on the progress of DeMarcus' recruitment.
