Hughes Still Wants to Visit U-M

4-star running back Robert Hughes (5-11, 230) from Chigago Hubbard is's #68 prospect and an Army All-American. He attended the U-M spring game this past April, but has set three December official visits, none of which is to U-M. Is Michigan still one of his finalists?'s #68 prospect, 4-star and Army All-American running back Robert Hughes has led his Chicago Hubbard team to a 9-2 record, rushing for 1,400 yards in an injury-plagued season. GoBlueWolverine called and identified ourselves to Hughes, who answered:

"You're GoBlueWolverine ... Michigan?"

"Okay, what's up?"

You had your first loss last weekend, is your season over now?

"Yeah we lost, but we're still playing this weekend ... we go into the city tournament now. We don't know who we play yet."

You got again dinged a week ago -- did you play this past weekend?

"I'm not hurt, I played."

Let's get to what Michigan fans want to know: you have OSU, ND and Minnesota visits scheduled for December -- are you planning to make an official visit to Michigan in January?

"Yeah, I hope so. I haven't hooked up with Coach Moeller (Michigan assistant who recruits Chicago) much during the season. But I want to."

Any chance that you play Martez this weekend (Army All-American DE Martez Wilson's Chicago Simeon is also in the City tournament)?

"I'm not sure, we don't know who we play yet."

You and Martez are friends. Might he still make his 5th visit to U-M (he has visits set to USC, Notre Dame, OSU and Miami, and has talked about Illinois being his 5th visit)?

"Let's hope so."
