Fla. LB Hicks Has Offer, Will Visit Michigan

In the Wolverines' search for linebacker recruits, they have gone down to Jacksonville Florida and offered a fast four-star prospect. And, he tells GoBlueWolverine, he plans to make an official visit to the Wolverines.

GoBlueWolverine spoke to four-Star Fla. linebacker Brandon Hicks (6-2, 210) from Jacksonville Nathan Bedford Forrest.

Are you planning on taking a visit to Michigan?

"Yes I am. I'm just trying to figure out when. It will be an official visit."

Are you planning on watching the big game on Saturday?

"Ha-ha -- of course!"

Will the outcome of the game affect your decision in any way?

"No."

What are your top schools right now? "Miami, Florida, Michigan, Clemson, and Ohio State. They have all offered me."

Does any school have a lead?

"No, they are all tied up right now."

When are you planning on announcing your decision?

"Sometime in January."

What is it that attracts you to Michigan?

"The Michigan team and program in general, but especially the Michigan defense. The Defense is looking really good this year."

Hicks is a 'speed 'backer' who often dropped into pass coverage for his team, which finished 5-5 on the season. He had 4 interceptions for the year. At the Scout.com Jacksonville Combine this spring he ran a 4.77 sec. 40, a 4.5 shuttle, and had an excellent 30 inch vertical jump.
