Michigan Gets Commitment No. 17 -- a LB!

HERE IS THE INTERVIEW. There were two linebackers who made official visits to Michigan this weekend. The Wolverines ended up offering just one of the two -- and he committed to Coach Carr! Which one is it? Read on -- we just got off the phone with the excited 'backer!

It's Kan. Juco LB Austin Panter (6-3, 225, 4.5) from El Dorado, Kan., Butler CC.

GoBlueWolverine spoke to Austin, who told us:

"I had a great visit. And before I left I had a meeting with Coach Carr. He said he wanted me to play for Michigan -- and I accepted! I committed to Michigan!"

"I picked Michigan because it's a fabulous school with a great football program. The coaches, players, everyone and everything at Michigan was great."

"My host was offensive guard Adam Kraus. And I hung around with Jake Long, and with linebackers David Harris and Chris Graham."

Panter, a MIKE LB who went the JC route because he played 8 man football in a tiny NE Kansas town, will be graduating from junior college in 1 1/2 years this month, and enrolling at Michigan in January. He is a top notch student, near 4.0.
