Fla. CB Doug Wiggins Coming Up

North Miami Beach High School's QB/CB Doug Wiggins has scheduled his second official visit -- and it's to Michigan. Wiggins has never been to Ann Arbor before -- will one visit be enough to get him hooked on the Wolverines?

North Miami Beach High School's four-star athlete Doug Wiggins (5-11, 180), Scout.com's #39 Southeast prospect, has already made one official visit, to Georgia on October 20th. His second official was going to be to Michigan on October 27th but that fell through. But, he told GoBlueWolverine Monday evening, U-M is still going to be his second official visit:

"Yeah, I'm visiting Michigan this weekend."

If Wiggins is going to take any more visits, he has to hurry, because, as he told us:

"I'm graduating at semester and enrolling in college in January."

He is going to squeeze at least one more in:

"I'm also visiting South Carolina the 15th. I will try to make another visit or two, but I don't know" (GBW: possibilities are Oklahoma, Miami).

North Miami Beach ("Beach High") made it all the way to the Florida state semi-finals, losing this past Friday to defending champ Miami Northwestern. Wiggins was the key player for his team going both ways:

"I played both quarterback and cornerback this season."

Wiggins will announce his decision at his team's football banquet in late December.

GoBlueWolverine note: as stated in the introduction, this will be Wiggins' first trip ever to Ann Arbor. So the familiarity factor (that is, the lack thereof) will be working against the Wolverines ... can U-M make a big enough impression to make him feel at home in currently-snowy A2 right away, enough to overtake Georgia for him? Simply put, that is the question.
