"It's a honor for me to commit to Michigan."

So said Michigan's 19th and newest verbal commitment, Varina, Virginia outside linebacker Marell Evans. GoBlueWolverine spoke with Evans, who had just gotten home from his official visit to U-M this weekend.

It's Richmond Varina's OLB Marell Evans (6-3, 215), former high school teammate of U-M freshman Brandon Minor, told GoBlueWolverine:

"I committed to Michigan today!"

How did it happen?

"I was in Coach Carr's office. He asked me if Id like to be a part of the Michigan program."

"I said, 'It would be an HONOR to be a part of the great Michigan program!'"

"The coaches told me this weekend that they need linebackers, and that's what I am -- I'm going to be an outside linebacker for Michigan!"

"I had a great visit this weekend -- my host was Brandon (Minor)."

Michigan's 19th verbal commitment is a college OLB with a 4.6 sec. 40. His senior stats are excellent: 90-some tackles, 6 sacks, and he aIso made 5 interceptions.
