Depth Chart Analysis -- D Line

No true freshmen are listed, but even without Gabe Watson this unit looks really good.

1st Team Defensive Line

DE - Dan Rumishek -- Fifth-year senior and returning All-Big Ten performer. You couldn't ask for much better on the outside.

DT - Norman Heuer -- Registered nine tackles for loss, including five sacks in his breakout season last year. At 288 he is a big run-stopping hoss in the middle.

DT - Shawn Lazarus -- Another big strong fifth-year senior. It's guys like him that make Michigan one of the best defenses in the nation.

DE - Shante Orr -- He was the Wolverines' best D-lineman last year, which was no small task. He isn't the greatest against the run at 255 pounds, but he can sure put a hurting on the quarterback.

2nd Team D-Line -- DE Larry Stevens, DT Patrick Massey, DT Grant Bowman, DE Pierre Woods. --- Bowman and Stevens contributed plenty last season, Massay and Woods are very talented redshirt freshmen. Massey earned the AP Defensive Player of the Year honor as a prep star in Ohio.

Third Team D-Line - Alex Ofili, John Wood, Alain Kashama,

(Editor's note: True freshman Gabe Watson will also see action, but true freshmen were omitted from the official depth chart).
