2008 Intro: DE Nicholas Perry

Detroit Mackenzie defensive end Nicholas Perry was in attendance at the Army National junior combine last week and acquitted himself well. Already considered one of the prospects to look out for next year, the talented youngster indicated he is currently hearing a great deal from a number of Big Ten Programs, including Michigan.

How did your season go last year?

“Our season went okay. I had around 70 tackles and 11 sacks.”

What schools have you been hearing from?

Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Minnesota. A couple of them came by (his school). Michigan came by. Notre Dame came by. Wisconsin came by. Minnesota came by.”

What schools are you most interested in?

Ohio State, Michigan, and USC.”

Is distance going to be a factor in your decision?

“No, I don’t think so. My family wouldn’t like it, but I’d have to do what was best from me.”

Was there a particular school you grew up watching?

“Michigan. My uncle played for them. His name is Gilvanni Johnson.”

What are your height, your weight, and your forty time?

“I’m 6-4, 210, I can run a 4.5.”

For those that haven't seen you play, how would you describe your game?

“I like to come off the edge, I’m very quick, and I use my hands well.”

Have you attended any summer camps in the past?


Do you plan on attending any this summer?

“Yeah. I don’t know which ones though. The big ones… Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame.”

Do you have a decision timetable?

“I want to go early. That way even if something happens to me on the field, I’ll still have a scholarship.”
