Jerimy Finch played this season for Indiana State Champ Indianapolis Warren Central.
But with his decommitment, there is another safety who played for a state champ -- and after holding onto his interest in U-M for the whole recruiting season, he might finally be getting together with the Wolverines.
GoBlueWolverine spoke Tuesday evening to La Marque, Texas safety James Thomas.
Have you been in contact with at Michigan?
"Yes, with Coach Jackson (U-M asst. Fred Jackson recruits East Texas for Michigan). He is supposed to visit me tomorrow."
Do you have an offer from Michigan at this point?
"Not yet, but I'm hoping to get one."
Where are you visiting this weekend?
You had to cancel Oklahoma State this past weekend, because of the weather. Are you going to reschedule that?
"Ummm, no, I don't think so. I was probably going to just commit to Arkansas, but if Michigan is really interested, I'll visit there the 26th and make up my mind after that."
Did you visit anywhere else?
If they offer you, will Michigan be in your top three then?
What are your other top schools?
"Arkansas and Missouri."
Would you commit right away if you got an offer from U-M?
"Well I would need to think about it and compare Michigan, Arkansas, and Missouri."
Tell us more about yourself and your season.
"I'm 6-0 and 185 pounds. I had 115 tackles this season, 14 tackles for loss, 4 interceptions, and 3 sacks. I also punted and returned punts. We went 15-1 this season -- we won the state championship in 4-A Division II."
