Darrell Simmons Profile and Film

How did your season go last year?

"My team didn't do so good, but next year we plan to step up and surprise a lot of people.  On defense I had around 89 tackles, an interception, and two tackles for loss.

For people that haven't seen you play before, why don't you break down your game a little bit.

"I'm about 6-2, 193.  I play both free safety and strong safety, but I mostly play strong.  I play like Sean Taylor."

What schools are you hearing from at this point?

"I'm hearing from a lot of schools, but I'm getting the most interest from Miami, Florida, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, and Michigan."

Those are he schools recruiting you the hardest?

"Yeah… I'd have to say Michigan, Virginia Tech, and probably Miami."

Have you camped at or visited any of those schools?

"No, I haven't camped at any, but I've been on a couple unofficial visits.  I've been to Georgia and Virginia Tech.  I know for sure I'm going to hit the Miami and Virginia Tech camps this summer."

Will distance from home be a factor in your final decision?

"No."

What will be the most significant factors in your choice?

"Just what's good for me, my mom, and the rest of my family.  I'm looking for a good winning tradition and strong academics."

Have you thought about when you'd like to make your choice?

"I'm going to wait it out until signing day."
