W: Michigan 31, Washington 29: Philip Brabbs kicked a 44-yard field goal on the game's last play.

L: Missouri 33, Illinois 20: Freshman quarterback Brad Smith completed 15-of-26 for 152 yards and also rushed for 138 yards and a touchdown.

W: Indiana 25, William & Mary 17: Indiana set a school-record as the Hoosiers held William & Mary to -32 yards rushing.

W: Iowa 57, Akron 21: Iowa scored a school-record 37 points in the first quarter.

W: Michigan State 56, Eastern Michigan 7: Junior quarterback Jeff Smoker threw for 232 yards and three touchdowns.

W: Minnesota 42, SW Texas 0: Junior tight end Ben Utecht caught a 75-yard touchdown pass on the first play from scrimmage.

W: Penn State 27, Central Florida 24: Sophomore quarterback Zack Mills threw for 194 yards and tossed two touchdown passes as Penn State scored 17 unanswered points in the second half.

W: Purdue 51, Illinois State 10: Junior Joey Harris had his best day in a Purdue uniform rushing 23 times for 144 yards and scored two touchdowns.

W: Air Force 52, Northwestern 3: Air Force (1-0) racked up over 500 total yards on offense, including 476 on the ground.

W: Wisconsin 27, UNLV 7: Jonathon Orr set a Wisconsin freshman record with 151 receiving yards on seven catches. The game was stopped midway through the fourth quarter because of a power outage.

W: Notre Dame 22, Maryland 0: Lockport (Ill.) High School graduate Nick Setta kicked five field goals for the Irish.
