Shugarts Tells GBW He's Down to Four

Klein, Texas OT J.B. Shugarts is already one of the stars of the 07-08 recruiting class. This guy's recruiting is moving at breakneck speed -- a week ago he'd narrowed things to six schools, and last night his dad told GBW it was now down to four.

Brett Shugarts, father of Klein, Texas OT J.B. Shugarts (6-7, 300) spoke to GoBlueWolveirne Sunday night:

"J.B. has named his final four schools: Michigan, Oklahoma, Ohio State, and Florida."

That's fast! What is his timetable?

"J.B. is going to name his college on August first, and he will enroll in college early as well, in January 2008."

There has been talk of Sam McGuffie and J.B both attending the Michigan Camp this summer ...

"Yeah ... J.B and Sam have become close friends."

"We will definitely get up to Michigan some time again."

"Our plan is to visit each of the four schools at least one more time."

Both McGuffie and Shugarts were in on the "Junior Signing Day Offers Bonanza" by Michigan Head Coach Lloyd Carr:

"Sam got offered by Michigan on Signing Day, he talked to Coach Carr. And J.B. gave Carr a call as well," Mr. Shugarts said.

The senior Shugarts was the O-line coach at this January's Army Junior Combine, where J.B. looked almost skinny.

"J.B. was down to 285 at the Army Combine; he weighed 299 today."
